Okay, now you've had your photo fix...

There's nothing to write about. Actually, it's raining atm, and I'm too scared to say it'll stop in five mins in case it doesn't stop for 2 months! A lovely sound on the roof - only the second time in 6 months, which shows you how little it rains here in the dry season.
Wonder where I put my raincoat?

As you can see from the counter, I have just over 13 weeks to go - which is around 95 days. I'm so looking forward to getting home and getting on with a 'normal' life, but I don't know how long that'll last even when we do get back. I shall cross my fingers and slay the neighbours pony to throw on the sacrificial bonfire that we will get at least ONE decent Christmas in the next few years!

This is one of the red bananas I wrote about yonks ago - they're not real big, but they're very sweet and taste like banana lollies. Unfortunately it's the only local produce I've had, a real shame, because the papaya and coconuts look delicious!

And this is what bored people do when noone is watching.
Well, one of the things they do...

This is the disgusting pink palace, that reminds me so much of my bathroom back home - which, I will state UNEQUIVOCALLY right here, will not look anything like this pink monstrosity by this time next year!
I swear it's even the same shade.

I think they buy in bulk, and different colours are available each week, because you get a run on pastels, then brights. Oh, and they paint everything. Note how well the fence and columns match.
*shudder*

Right...

I haven't uploaded the photos from my camera for a while, and it's not here with me now, so I'm not doing it. I'll bring it back with me tomorrow and put some up over the weekend.

Things here remain much the same, but the weather is getting to be pretty gross. "Lush" is a very apt description, given the humidity must be about 800%, with absolutely NO chance of rain. The clouds have been building, and we had some interesting thunder yesterday, but nary a drop in it. This afternoon looked promising at one stage, yet 20 mins later there was not a cloud in the sky! Conversely, I think there has been more rain in Townsville recently. But, it can't stay sunny all the time.
We hope.

Seems to be absolutely no chance of me getting home earlier, so I'm just going to have to suck it up. Pricks. There is no particular reason to make me stay, other than to fuck me around, so they can just shove it. I'll do the job just fine by myself, with no support network. Gee... hope I don't go MENTAL from doing all that work on my own. We all know what happens to stressed out workers these days, don't we? Pffft. Wouldn't give the assholes the satisfaction.

Enough ranting, and on to more positive things...

The flights for the FP have been booked, and everything there should work out nicely. The PP is due home around the time she's due back from NSW, so that's also a plus. And a plus plus is that the LP will be able to come and spend a few weeks with her dad once he gets home - it's just unfortunate that I won't be home until after she's gone home. Dammitall. Oh well, I'll have to make sure I get to know her before she turns 21. Or marries. Which ever comes first!

Am not doing too bad with eating smaller meals - portion size is very 'In' you know. Calorie counting is a pain in the ass, but at least it trains you to consider what you're eating... and I'm eating the healthiest now that I think I ever have, although it has to be said that I'm not eating anywhere remotely close to what the 'recommended daily intake' is - you know, 3 serves of this, 6 serves of that... When you start investigating websites, you realise just how much variation of information there is out there on nutritional matters, and it's all from relatively reputable sources - i.e. not for profit orgs, medical and research facilities... perhaps there's a book in there somewhere 'Wading through the slops'. I think the webmasters etc. might get a little pissy at that title though, I'll have to work on that. One day when I'm bored, I'm going to work out how many calories are involved in their daily intake stuff, and I'd be very surprised if it's not more than what I'm supposed to be eating.

When I get bored.
hehehe
